Following the success of Scotland Food & Drinks inaugeral conference at Gleneagles in 2008, ECS was invited to once again manage their two-day annual event in 2009. The conference aims were to raise awareness of the international trading opportunities available to Scottish producers and the support networks which are out there. The two dates for the conference were a month apart allowing the feedback from day one to be collated and used to sculpt the agenda for day two. The overall feedback on this conference format was great as delegates felt their views and queries were really being taken into account and therefore the sessions were of greater value to them.
Our role - We co-ordinated each aspect of these two one day conferences from liaising with the venue, AV companies, sponsors, writing and issuing press releases, delegate bookings, invoicing as well as the overall event management on the day. ECS was also responsible for helping source informative speakers for the conference - a challenge for day two as we only had a month, once the theme had been set, to source and secure the right speakers.
