ECS have risen to the Challenge ... the Caledonian Challenge

ONE STEP AT A TIME
Who says the ECS girls aren't tough!
Susan, Elise, Fiona and Danielle took part in the Caledonian Challenge on June 14th 2008. This was easily the most physically demanding thing any of us have ever done. We had to walk 54 miles along some of the most arduous parts of the West Highland Way, from Fort William to the banks of Loch Lomond.
So clad in our hiking boots and midgy nets we set off with 1300 other hikers for the walk of our lives! Spirits were high to start with but the 54 miles took their toll. After a very respectable 42 miles we lost 2 of our team to fatigue and blisters.
25 hours, and a great deal of pain later, the other 2 of us crossed the finish line. It was only 8am but in true ECS fashion, we still thought it right to consume a cheeky glass of champagne before we collapsed on the ground!
Many thanks to everyone who supported us, we raised over £4000 for the Scottish Community Foundation, a truly worthwhile cause.
