Social Life is thriving in Scotland!
16 May 2011
The Social Enterprise S2S Fair 2011 took place on Wednesday 20th April at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange. This is the third year we have organised the Fair on behalf of the Scottish Social Enterprise Coalition - the national collective voice for Scotland's social enterprise community.
The 6th annual fair offered the biggest platform for social enterprises in Scotland to trade, participate in workshops, network and make new business connections in a dynamic environment. It's the only event of its kind in Scotland, featuring 108 exhibitors and attracting almost 600 delegates, underlining the enduring strength of social enterprise, despite challenging economic conditions.
The fair was officially opened by keynote speaker Mel Young, co-founder of the Homeless World Cup and a variety of workshops and demonstrations took place throughout the day, hosted by some of Scotland's leading social entrepreneurs. Workshops included how to set up your own community interest company, tips to make your marketing more effective and the 12 secrets to guarantee your business success. Demonstrations included up cycling by Impact Arts, British Sign Language by Deaf Action and an introduction to chocolate making by Hebridean Chocolates.
We provided the Coalition with the following services:
- day-to-day project management
- full event logistics
- event administration
- exhibitor, delegate & sponsor liaison
- venue & catering liaison
- marketing, advertising & promotion
- overseeing design & print production
- audio-visual provision
- onsite management
- feedback & evaluation
- budget reconciliation
"Thank you for delivering yet another superb event! We thought it was a great day. A lot of hard work but we are so delighted with the organisation".
